According to EUPD Research’s Global PV Installer Monitor 2022/2023©, the Netherlands are one of the 5 leading EU-27 PV markets with Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland. Together, these five countries have installed ~36 GWdc in 2023, which accounts for 62% of the total capacity of ~59 GWdc. EUPD Research estimates that the EU will install ~150 GW of new PV over the course of 2024 and 2025.
In 2023, the Dutch PV market boasted the the highest PV capacity per capita in the EU-27 states, standing at 1,318 watts. Their residential sector is among the largest in Europe as well, with EUPD Research predicting this number to decrease this year.
