The Brazilian solar PV market has risen through the global ranks with regard to their annual addition of PV capacity in 2023. According to EUPD Research’s Global Energy Transition GET-Matrix©, the country reached the third place by adding around 12.34 GWac of new PV capacity in 2023, reaching a cumulative installed capacity of 37.9 GWac. Of the 12.34 GWac, 8.3 GWac was added in the distributed generation and ~4 GWac in centralized generation segment. Brazil has so far shown solid PV pulses as well and the country is expected to install ~11 GW of new PV by the end of 2024.
