According to figures from the Clean Energy Regulator, Australia’s rooftop PV market experienced a retraction in 2022. This was due to a number of factors, including supply chain disruptions, rising transport prices as well as system costs, and floodings in several states.
After the dip in 2022, the PV rooftop market is expected to grow again in 2023, as supply chains operate more smoothly and freight costs have once again decreased. “Rising household electricity prices are also a fuelling factor, as this often creates a desire for greater energy independence, making households more likely to go solar”, explains Hanna Schmole, Director Research Operations at EUPD Research.
To be successful in the market, it is essential to know the PV installer in detail, as they are the key intermediaries between manufacturers and end customers, who recommend and install their selected brands. EUPD Research surveyed 250 PV installers all over Australia in regards to their procurement behaviour, brand management and their satisfaction with their chosen brands. In order to identify the right companies to survey, EUPD Research carried out a detailed review of the Clean Energy Council accredited installer database and conducted further research.
