Creating Solutions for the German Solar Market #2

In 2024, 16,179 MW of solar PV capacity was installed in Germany. The commercial and industrial (C&I) segment leads the way with 7,840 MW of new PV capacity, closely followed by the private segment (7,130 MW) and the energy supply segment (1,197 MW). According to the PV InstallerMonitor© | EES InstallerMonitor© 2024/2025 from EUPD Research, installers in the C&I sector expect stronger growth in the coming years.

Due to current energy policy uncertainties and fluctuating energy prices, there is a growing need for independence (e.g., through energy storage) and self-consumption among both private and commercial customers. According to 89% of the installers surveyed in 2024/2025, this growing interest is by far the most important driver for PV roof systems in Germany.

This December 3-4, 2025, the German solar and storage sector came together to discuss these shifting market dynamics at Solar Solutions Düsseldorf. The exhibition brought together 250 exhibitors on an extended area of 27,050 square meters, spread over two halls. We brought back valuable impressions from the showfloor for you!
